We are currently seeking for passionate and self - driven risk professionals at Senior Consultant level with exceptional analytical skills to become part of our rapidly growing Financial Risk Management and Risk Advisory team in our offices in Athens.
Our Financial Risk Management (FRM) practice constitutes the fastest growing team in the local market with a proven track record of delivering large scale engagements across the industry during the recent past. YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deloitte is a leading provider of Risk Advisory services including model risk management, risk modelling and validation services and therefore offers the opportunity to work on high profile projects and clients that are leaders in the industry.
Your role as a Senior Consultant will focus on the delivery of client engagements, by understanding objectives for clients and Deloitte, aligning your own work to objectives and setting personal priorities, teaming with others across businesses and borders and taking accountability for own and team results. You will commit to personal learning and development by actively seeking opportunities for growth, you will share knowledge and experience with others, and act as a strong brand ambassador, embracing our purpose and values in order to put these into practice in your professional life.
During your tenure as a Senior Consultant you will participate on risk engagements with a significant quantitative component and you will demonstrate and develop your ability to:
Provide innovative thinking on model development engagements through leveraging industry knowledge, deep understanding of regulatory requirements and market leading practices;
Understand how business functions operate and how industry trends impact a client’s business;
Offer insights with regards to the drivers behind model performance and their implications to the client’s business;
Ensure that the models are fit for purpose for their designated use and meet regulatory expectations and industry best practices;
Support activities to ensure compliance with risk policy and model risk frameworks;
Produce clear and well-presented analysis on all aspects of model performance;
Interface with a range of stakeholders, including clients and Deloitte network;
Manage junior members of the team;
Deliver key messages with clarity, confidence and poise to instill confidence in clients;
Adopt a data-driven approach to implement strategically aligned financial risk management programs.
We are looking for candidates qualified to postgraduate degree level in a numerate discipline with a proven track record in data driven analysis and statistical or mathematical modelling.
You will have a background in banking or financial services, and experience of risk management systems, impairment methodologies and processes in a retail and wholesale banking environment.
Successful applicants should ideally meet the following criteria:
At least 3 to 4 years of relevant working experience in quantitative risk management engagements ideally on the development and validation of internal models (e.g. IRB, IFRS 9 e.tc.), data analyses and model risk management;
Excellent programming language skills in SAS;
Other programming language skills i.e. Python, R, SQL, VBA e.tc. will be considered an asset;
Working experience of Probability of Default (PD) / Loss Given Default (LGD) / Exposure at Default (EAD) and/or Pillar II models’ mechanics;
Deep understanding of the regulatory framework and its implications on financial institutions;
Ability to articulate complex topics into simple and easily understood concepts to clients and colleagues;
Commercially skilled and capable of advising clients based on their needs;
Ability to work effectively as team players;
Project management and excellent report writing skills;
Self – starters;
Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English.
