Your Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems and develop PLC & HMI programs, VFD parametrization, across marine and industrial crane applications based on project timelines and specifications
- Install, configure, test, and commission automation systems ensuring compliance with ABB Health, Safety & Environment and quality standards
- Configure, commission and maintain IoT-based signal monitoring systems and related equipment, onboard vessels for real-time performance monitoring (fuel consumption, EEXI/CII compliance). Ιncluding remote commissioning and MQTT-based data pipelines for IoT data transmission and integration
- Prepare technical drawings using EPLAN software
- Troubleshoot systems remotely and on-site, providing technical support and proposing improvements based on field experience
- Investigate customer needs through professional consulting and manage customer relationships to provide excellent customer support
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience in designing, configuring, commissioning, and maintaining automation systems (PLC, HMI, Variable Frequency Drives)
- Experience with flow monitoring systems, including electromagnetic or coriolis flowmeters and IoT-connected instrumentation
- Proficiency in EPLAN software or equivalent CAD/electrical design tools
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, OPC UA/DA, TCP/IP)
- Familiarity with MQTT protocol for IoT data transport and integration with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure IoT Hub)
- Fluent English (both written and verbal)
- Strong problem-solving skills with a detail focused mindset
- Self-motivated with genuine interest in emerging automation technologies
- Team player with a customer-oriented approach
- Willingness and ability to travel globally (approximately 30% of the time)
