Job Summary

Barback plays a crucial support role in the bar area, assisting bartenders with various tasks to ensure efficient operations and exceptional customer service. With a focus on teamwork, organization, and attention to detail, the Barback helps maintain a clean and well-stocked bar, prepares ingredients and garnishes, and assists with customer service as needed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with bar setup before service, including restocking liquor bottles, glassware, garnishes, and other bar supplies.
• Prepare ingredients, such as citrus fruits, syrups, and garnishes, according to recipes and bartender instructions.
• Ensure that bar equipment, such as blenders, shakers, and ice bins, is clean, sanitized, and in working order before service.
• Assist bartenders during service by fetching and opening bottles, pouring draft beer, and preparing simple cocktails and mixed drinks.
• Monitor bar levels and anticipate bartenders' needs, replenishing supplies and ingredients as needed to maintain smooth operations.
• Clear empty glasses, bottles, and debris from the bar top and service areas to keep the bar clean and organized.
• Work collaboratively with bartenders, servers, and other bar staff to ensure seamless communication and teamwork during service.
• Follow instructions and guidelines provided by the Bar Manager or Bartender, seeking clarification or assistance as needed.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate tasks, share information, and address any issues or concerns that arise during the shift.

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a barback or in a similar support role in a bar, nightclub, or restaurant setting is preferred but not required;
• Basic knowledge of bar operations, including drink recipes, bar equipment, and service techniques, is helpful.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
