Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service by processing transactions accurately, handling cash, and ensuring a positive experience for patrons during the payment process.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Process customer orders and accurately handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
• Provide correct change and issue receipts promptly.
• Maintain a balanced cash drawer at all times.
• Operate the cash register and any related point-of-sale (POS) equipment.
• Enter orders and process payments accurately and efficiently.
• Close out transactions and reconcile sales at the end of shifts.
• Verify the accuracy of orders before processing payments.
• Adhere to all cash handling policies and procedures.
• Follow security measures to prevent theft or mishandling of cash.
• Report any discrepancies or suspicious activities to management.
• Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, or complaints in a professional and friendly manner.
• Stay informed about menu items, ingredients, and pricing.
• Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and free of clutter.
• Monitor and restock necessary supplies, such as receipt paper and change.
• Work collaboratively with serving staff, kitchen personnel, and management.
• Communicate effectively to ensure a seamless flow of operations.
• Support team members during busy periods or when additional assistance is needed.

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or Accounting is preferable.
• Technical Diploma in Accounting
• Previous experience as a cashier, preferably in a restaurant or fast-food setting.
• Strong mathematical and cash handling skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-volume transactions.
• Basic knowledge of menu items and food allergens.
