FDL Group, one of the leading 3PL providers in Greece, is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of its distribution fleet, including refrigerated trucks, trailers, and support vehicles. The role is critical in guaranteeing that fleet operations support FDL’s standards of operational and customer service excellence.
Role Overview
As a Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance, spare parts management, vendor relationships, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will ensure fleet reliability, minimize downtime, and drive cost efficiency while supporting drivers and operational teams with technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for trucks, trailers, and vans
- Ensure timely execution of repairs and minimize vehicle downtime
- Maintain accurate service, inspection and repair records for compliance and audits
- Guarantee full compliance with national road safety and refrigerated transport regulations
- Conduct fleet inspections and lead accident investigations with corrective actions
- Monitor budgets, analyze maintenance costs, and implement cost-saving initiatives
- Optimize spare parts management and supplier agreements
- Track KPIs (fuel, tires, maintenance costs) and recommend improvements
- Negotiate with external partnes and manage vendor relationships
- Provide technical training and guidance to drivers on vehicle checks and handling
- Implement fleet management systems and digital tools for maintenance tracking
- Generate reports on fleet availability, breakdowns, repair times, and costs
- Schedule and coordinate servicing, inspections (MOT), and insurance renewals
- Recommend upgrades, replacements, or technologies to enhance fleet performance
What We’re Looking For
- University degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, Logistics, or related field
- Proven experience in fleet maintenance and management of commercial vehicles
- Strong technical knowledge of trucks, trailers, and transport equipment
- Experience in cost control, supplier management, and contract negotiations
- Ability to lead safety and compliance initiatives across large fleets
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Fluent in both English and Greek (written & spoken)
- Legally eligible to work in Greece without the need for visa sponsorship
