Work For All is seeking a Restaurant Service Captain on behalf of a 5* hotel in Halkidiki, part of a large hotel group.

About the Hotel

Located in a prime setting in Halkidiki, this 5-star hotel is a modern adults-only hospitality destination, designed for guests seeking relaxation, comfort, and high-quality services in an elegant and tranquil environment. The property features 105 rooms, combining contemporary aesthetics with functional design and refined hospitality. It offers three restaurants serving Mediterranean and Asian cuisine, as well as two bars, providing a variety of culinary experiences within an all-inclusive concept. Guests can also enjoy two large swimming pools, a fully equipped gym, a spa for relaxation and wellness, and a private beach. The hotel caters exclusively to adult guests, offering a peaceful and sophisticated atmosphere where comfort, high-quality gastronomy, and attentive service create a complete and memorable stay experience.

Role Overview

The role supervises and coordinates the daily restaurant operations, ensuring high-quality service and adherence to standards. It leads the team by example, effectively uses systems, and closely collaborates with the kitchen and bar teams. At the same time, it trains and guides staff, ensuring proper etiquette, service rhythm, and an excellent overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Leads and supervises front-of-house operations, ensuring team readiness, discipline, and smooth service flow.
• Conducts pre-service briefings covering daily specials, VIP tables, wine recommendations, and upselling priorities.
• Oversees the full-service cycle, including guest greeting, order taking, pacing, check handling, and farewell.
• Ensures accurate use of POS for orders, billing, and payments, and proper communication with kitchen and bar.
• Manages table assignments and coordinates with the Chef de Cuisine to align kitchen timing with floor operations.
• Supervises, trains, and coaches service staff (waiters, runners, bussers) to ensure consistency and adherence to SOPs.
• Supports ongoing team development through coaching, mock service exercises, etiquette training, and upselling guidance.
• Maintains active presence on the floor, handling guest requests, feedback, and special occasions while ensuring high service standards.
• Monitors dining area presentation, maintains service atmosphere, and supports recommendations for wines, cocktails, and pairings.
• Handles administrative duties including closing checks, shift reporting, inventory participation, equipment monitoring, and maintaining team discipline and communication across shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience (minimum 3 years) in a similar role within a 5* hotel environment.
• Degree or diploma in Hospitality or F&B Service (preferred).
• Strong practical knowledge of POS and service-related systems.
• Excellent command of the Greek and English languages.
• Good knowledge of MS Office and hotel PMS systems. (preferably OPERA).
• Communication and collaboration skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong guest-focused orientation.
