About the job
Based at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino within the Front of House Department in Pylos, Messenia, Greece, the Villa Manager/Head Butler will be responsible for providing exceptional service from pre-arrival to departure to our Specialty Villas and VVIP guests. All pre-arrangements, preferences and guests’ requests need to be attended to in a courteous and efficient manner in accordance with Legendary Quality Experiences. For this role we require excellent managerial skills and competences in Front Office and Concierge, as well as good knowledge in F&B and Housekeeping. The Villa Manager/Head Butler reports to the Front of House Manager.
As Villa Manager/Head Butler, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Provide courteous, efficient service and ensure guest satisfaction from pre-arrival to departure in line with MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences and Forbes standards.
- Support colleagues and conduct on-the-job and development training for Villa Ambassadors, evaluate their performance, and ensure efficient and high-quality service processes.
- Coordinate the team to ensure continuity of personalized and anticipatory service across the VIP guests’ stay.
- Assist guests with pre-arrival arrangements and collect guests’ preferences, needs and further relevant information, and ensure requests are satisfied before guests’ arrival.
- Welcome guests and provide in-suite check-in, reconfirm preferences and offer additional arrangements as per MOHG standards.
- Collaborate with other Heads of Department, especially Housekeeping and F&B, to plan procedures and project to elevate guest service.
- Coordinate daily service and turndown with housekeeping, as well as service of in-villa meals and organize in-villa private events with F&B departments.
- Inspect Specialty Villas and ensure they are in perfect maintenance conditions and fully stocked with amenities, monitor inventory, and prepare necessary tools.
- Handle guest billing, invoices and payments in compliance with Greek law and Hotel policies.
- Organize departure or post-departure arrangements following MO standards.
- Have an accurate overview and organization about upcoming VVIP stays, and be able to report each VIP guest’s plans to high management.
- Keep monitored P&L of the department in collaboration with management.
- Attend briefings, report complaints or emergencies, and ensure efficient handovers.
- Upon request, perform a private butler service in the villa at guest’s disposal.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.
As Villa Manager/Head Butler, we expect from you:
- Valid EU Passport or Hellenic Residence Permit.
- Minimum 2-year experience in the luxury hospitality industry in the same or similar position.
- Proficiency in English, with an additional language preferred.
- Hospitality management degree is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail.
- Good computer skills. HMS, Alliants or Alice knowledge is preferred.
- Charming and outgoing personality with elegant manners and grooming.
- Result-oriented managerial skills and positive leadership.
- Able to perform tasks that demand physical effort.
- Be available for night shifts, weekends and public holidays.
- Driving license is required.
