Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the daily operations of the assigned restaurant by ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient team performance, and smooth coordination of all operational elements. This role involves assisting in staff management, cost control, inventory handling, scheduling, and maintaining high hygiene and quality standards. The AGM acts as a key support to the General Manager and steps in during their absence.

The ideal candidate will combine operational excellence with a dynamic, engaging presence that enhances the celebratory atmosphere of our venues.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations across all departments
  • Support the implementation of service standards and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality guest experiences.
  • Help maintain compliance with local health and safety regulations regarding food preparation, storage, and sanitation.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth communication and business continuity.
  • Monitor and keep records of outlet certifications and licenses.
  • Stay up-to-date with seasonal trends and contribute ideas for promotions and unique selling points.
  • Supervise and support restaurant operations to drive profitability while minimizing legal risks and ensuring compliance with alcoholic beverage laws.
  • Assist in staff scheduling and forecast workforce requirements in coordination with the HR department.
  • Lead by example in coaching and guiding team members to foster a high-performance, motivated, and customer-focused team.
  • Address customer feedback or complaints while upholding the company's service standards and problem-solving approach.
  • Work with the HR department to identify staff training needs and coordinate required programs.
  • Assist in managing staff relations, resolving conflicts, and enforcing the company’s code of conduct and HR policies.
  • Participate in weekly operations meetings and contribute to business planning and operational improvements.
  • Support financial performance tracking by assisting with sales analysis and cost control in line with P&L goals.
  • Prepare operational or financial reports as needed or requested by management.
  • Contribute to optimizing profitability by assisting in controlling food and beverage margins and operating expenses.
  • Engage with guests in a lively and festive manner, encouraging a party atmosphere and making every visit memorable.
  • Bring energy and enthusiasm to the floor, setting the tone for celebrations and social interactions.

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or equivalent; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Operations-related courses and training.
  • Food safety training / HACCP Certificate.
  • Proven restaurant management (F&B) experience.
  • Experience in customer service within a similar commercial environment.
  • Proven experience in team management.
  • Hands-on experience with cash flow systems and restaurant management.
  • Proficient with MICROS.
