Job Summary
The Head Waiter's/ Waitress’s primary responsibility is to provide friendly, attentive and timely service to ensure that the Em Sherif guest’s dining experience exceeds expectations. They must maintain an overall smooth operation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests at the table
- Be responsible of serving guests (taking the order, delivering food and beverage, etc.)
- Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to guests
- Stay updated on daily reservations
- Assist runners in cleaning and resetting tables and maintain orderly appearance of side stations throughout the service period
- Assist Service runners in glass and chinaware polishing
- Perform side work at the start and end of each shift including restaurant cleaning and set up, station refill
- Apply Em Sherif’s opening and closing procedures as per checklists
- Keep management promptly and fully informed of any service/internal operational issues
Guest service - Be knowledgeable about Em Sherif service procedures, entertainment, daily formulas and beverages to
be able to inform guests and answer any related questions - Deliver a personalized service to all guests
- Monitor guests’ experience and ensure satisfaction by responding promptly and courteously to any special requests
- Answer and solve customer minor guest complaints. Redirect major complaints to the Assistant Restaurant manager/Restaurant manager
- Obtain guest feedback and notify the Assistant restaurant manager of any necessary follow up
- Respect the safety and hygiene standards of Em Sherif premises
- Respect Em Sherif’s grooming standards
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service and strong social skills
- Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledgeable about POS system handling
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Head Waiter or minimum 2 years’ experience as a Waiter/ Runner, preferably in an Lebanese restaurant
- Strong command of English and Greek (both oral and written)
- Good command in Arabic or a foreign language is a plus
