Assistant Housekeeping Manager

What to expect

The successful candidates will be responsible for the smooth functioning and qualitative and quantitative results of their team. They will be responsible for fully supervising the cleanliness of the hotel, including the rooms and common areas, always striving to maintain the high standards of the company.

Main responsibilities

• Ensures that daily quality and quantity targets are met
• Contributes to the design of the daily programme and distribution of staff according to the needs of occupancy, arrivals/departures, etc
• Monitors that the daily tasks of the team are completed.
• Checks rooms and common areas for any damage and informs the maintenance department.
• Checks floor stock and dispenses cleaning chemicals and assists with order tracking.
• Takes care of customer requests (anniversary, honeymoon, birthday)
• Leads, trains, and empowers the team.
• Communicates and collaborates with other hotel departments (Front Office, Guest Relations)
• Assists with all household related tasks as directed by supervisor.

Necessary qualifications & skills

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position, in a 5* luxury hotel
• Degree relevant to the field is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English
• Good computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Good knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques and industry standards.
• Ability to organize, coordinate and lead teams in the completion of multiple tasks with the goal of achieving quality results.
• Familiarity with housekeeping software or systems is a plus.
• Standard knowledge in the implementation of ISO 9001, 14001 & 22000 management systems.
• Standard knowledge of occupational Health and Safety
