The SandBlu Luxury Resort is hiring Pastry Chef

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the pastry section of the kitchen, collaborating with the executive and sous chefs to ensure a successful working environment.
• Prepare ingredients and proficiently handle baking and other kitchen equipment.
• Create a variety of pastries, baked goods, and confections following set recipes, while also developing new recipes for seasonal menus.
• Decorate pastries and desserts to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation, meeting the high standards of the resort.
• Meet with customers to discuss and plan custom-made desserts and pastries for special occasions.
• Monitor and manage the stock of baking ingredients, ordering new supplies, ingredients, and equipment for the pastry section as needed and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations in the pastry section of the kitchen.
• Supervise and train staff members when necessary, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.

Qualifications

• Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or a relevant field from a recognized institution.
• Previous experience working within the food industry as a Pastry Chef, or in a relevant role.
• Proficient working knowledge of baking techniques and the pastry-making process.
• Creative ability and artistic skill in decorating cakes and other desserts.
• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality pastry products.
• In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, and nutrition.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production environment, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent command of Greek and English.
