JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Chief Steward, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the resort's culinary areas, ensuring that the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and guest satisfaction are upheld.

Essential Duties

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

1. Leadership and Supervision:
- Supervising and coordinating the work of the stewarding team, including dishwashers, cleaners, and other utility staff.
- Training and mentoring the team to maintain a high level of professionalism, teamwork, and service excellence.
- Creating and maintaining work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels at all times.

2. Inventory and Equipment Management:
- Ensuring the proper and efficient functioning of all kitchen equipment and machinery.
- Managing and controlling the inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, while keeping in line with budgetary constraints.
- Conducting regular audits to assess inventory levels and ordering replenishments as needed.

3. Hygiene and Sanitation:
- Enforcing strict adherence to hygiene and sanitation standards throughout the resort's kitchens, pantries, and storage areas.
- Overseeing the proper handling, storage, and disposal of waste and hazardous materials, conforming to local regulations.
- Collaborating with the Quality Assurance department to conduct periodic hygiene audits and implementing corrective action plans when necessary.

4. Relationship Management:
- Actively fostering positive working relationships with other departments, such as culinary operations, housekeeping, F&B, and procurement, to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Liaising with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services as per the resort's standards.

 

Location: Mykonos

 

Work-Schedule: Full-time

 

Starting date: Immediately

 

Reports to: EXECUTIVE CHEF

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Experience in a similar position ideally within a hotel environment or luxury restaurant.

Ability to perform all essential duties during a lengthy, high-volume, and high-pressure service.

Superb attention to detail and driven by delivering exception standards.

Capacity to work with a sense of urgency.

Contribute to the growth and success of the team.

Good English Language skills.
