POLARIS CONSULTING ENGINEERS IKE, based in Piraeus, offers consulting and Marine Chemist services in the marine field, is looking for a Chemical Engineer or Chemist to join our Team.

Position Summary: 

Marine Chemist Position:

A Marine Chemist requires understanding and identifying chemical dangers, and provides Gas Free certificates on board vessels and other enclosed spaces. This is achieved through a training program of approximately one year, conducted by our experienced Marine Chemists and it is followed by certification through examinations from the General Chemical State Laboratory.

In addition to the skills acquired through training and approved by relevant examinations, the candidate must be flexible, available, and have access to transportation.

Main responsibilities:

Out of the office: On Board surveys and inspections, domestic and international travels.

In office duties: Development of Reports, Calibration and maintenance of equipment, Communication with Shipping Companies, etc.

Qualifications:

- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.

- Willingness to work in the field and on board vessels.

- Excellent command of English Language.

- Good knowledge of MS Office suites (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).

- Working experience desirable.

- Goal-oriented, organized team player, self –motivated.

- Driving license holder
