About the role
There is currently a job opening “Machinist, Lathe Operator, Fitter”, in the Shops Department. As a Machinist, Lathe Operator, Fitter, you will be responsible for fabricating, modifying, repairing, and overhauling metallic aircraft components using various machining and fitting techniques (milling, grinding) in our workshop in accordance with the high endurance and tolerance standards set by both the manufacturers and the regulatory authorities. If you are eager to master new procedures quickly and you enjoy working with tools and aircraft equipment in a fast pace environment this role is for you.
What you will do:
- Primarily accomplish any task, related to machining shop requirements, i.e. fabricating, repairing, and modifying components or parts by applying fitting, turning, milling, and grinding techniques.
- Operate and maintain a variety of conventional and/or CNC machine tools (e.g., lathes, milling machines, grinders) for precision parts fabrication.
- Fabricate specialized tools, jigs, and fixtures necessary for maintenance tasks, based on specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Perform dimensional inspections on manufactured and repaired parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, callipers, bore gauges) to ensure compliance with technical specifications and tolerances.
You fit, if you cover the following requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Training Certificate in Machining, or Fitter/Mechanical Technician is preferred.
- 2 years of professional experience in precision machining (turning, milling) or fitting operations, preferably in a regulated industrial environment or aviation.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Training certifications in CNC programming/operation will be considered an asset.
- Fluency in oral and written Greek & English
