About Zero Stray Pawject, Inc
Zero Stray Pawject, Inc is an innovative organization dedicated to stray animal prevention, public health, and long-term animal welfare. We design, implement, and evaluate municipal stray-prevention programs that address the root causes of stray dog and cat populations—before animals end up on the street.
Zero Stray Pawject includes experts in veterinary medicine, public health, law, animal welfare, economics, and municipal management, operating across three continents. We work in close partnership with local authorities, law enforcement, veterinarians, schools, and ministries to deliver measurable, sustainable change supported by clear KPIs.
We have launched a pioneering pilot program in Crete to systematically and sustainably reduce the stray dog population. Working alongside ministries, municipalities, law
enforcement, partner veterinarians, and animal welfare groups, we provide free microchipping, neutering, and DNA services to low-income pet owners, farmers with herding dogs, and hunters.
To close critical access gaps in rural “veterinary desert” areas, we also deliver free veterinary care to ensure responsible pet ownership is achievable for all. Our team collaborates closely with Greece’s first Animal Police Department (launched in Crete in March 2025) and leads island-wide responsible pet ownership campaigns across TV, radio, social media, and community channels.
We conduct weekly rotating field clinics in municipal buildings with strong community participation. As we look ahead from 2026 to 2030, we aim to expand our services to reach even more communities across Crete.
