Sales Director
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the sales strategy, team, and operations for three resort hotel locations in Crete and Santorini, with a focus on maximizing revenue and profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of the Crete hospitality market, as well as expertise in sales management, account development, and pricing strategies. The successful candidate will be a proactive, results-driven leader who can foster collaborative relationships across departments and with key clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis, identifying growth opportunities, competitive advantages, and target customer segments.
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop tailored sales strategies for each resort location, establishing sales objectives and KPIs that align with the overall business goals.
- Pricing and Revenue Management: Collaborate with commercial managers at the resorts to optimize pricing strategies, ensuring competitiveness in the market while maximizing profitability.
- Sales Team Management and Training: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team, providing ongoing coaching and development opportunities to foster success.
- Key Account Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, including corporate groups, travel agencies, and event planners, while identifying and pursuing new potential clients.
- Marketing and Promotion: Partner with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns that drive bookings and raise brand awareness.
- Sales Channel Management: Optimize distribution channels and manage relationships with channel partners to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Sales Reporting and Forecasting: Monitor and report on sales performance and KPIs, adjust strategies as needed, and conduct regular sales forecasts to inform strategic decision-making.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales department budget, allocating resources effectively and monitoring expenses to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including operations, finance, and guest services, to ensure a seamless guest experience and efficient communication across the organization.
Necessary qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sales department of hotels, or within the hospitality industry, with a proven track record of success.
- Experience managing multiple locations, preferably in the resort hotel market.
- Strong understanding of the Crete hospitality market, including competitor analysis, demand trends, and target customer segments.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills, with experience working with key clients and channel partners.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop and monitor sales strategies, objectives, and KPIs.
- Proficiency in PMS / CRM/ C M / BI and revenue management systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Greek is a plus.
- Availability to travel frequently and to attend industry events and trade shows.
Desired qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Written and verbal communication skills in other foreign languages
- Knowledge of marketing strategies
- Knowledge of international inbound tourism markets in Greece
