Position Overview
We are seeking a Research & Development Scientist to join our R&D Department at our production site in Thiva. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in the food industry, preferably within the bakery or mixes/premixes sector, and a strong technical understanding of ingredient functionality.
Beyond formulation, the role includes training in baking and application testing, enabling the R&D Scientist to run projects independently — from concept and lab-scale development to pilot testing and industrial implementation.
This position reports directly to the R&D Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and reformulate powder mixes, premixes, and functional additives for bakery and food industry applications.
- Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale trials, analyze results, and ensure product performance and quality consistency.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Sales, and Marketing teams to support product launches and customer-driven projects.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation of formulations, trials, and evaluations.
- Participate actively in baking/application trials to validate and optimize new products.
- Monitor and research emerging technologies, ingredient innovations, and market trends.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or related field.
- 4–6 years of professional experience in the food industry, ideally in bakery, premixes, or additives formulation.
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving ability.
- Hands-on, practical approach to experimentation and product development.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).
- Willingness to develop baking and application know-how as part of daily project work.
