R&D Packaging Engineer

Job location: Inofita, Greece

Position Overview
We are looking for an R&D Packaging Engineer to join our R&D Applications Team. In this role, you will lead packaging development projects across innovation, renovation, sustainability, and cost optimization for Betty Crocker dry mixes and frosting platforms. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver impactful and efficient packaging solutions that win in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop packaging for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards.

• Lead packaging projects from concept through implementation, including trials, timelines, documentation, and risk mitigation.

• Collaborate with plant and ESC teams to organize and evaluate industrial trials.

• Maintain up-to-date technical packaging specifications.

• Partner with stakeholders in R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Sourcing to align on solutions.

• Monitor packaging performance through testing and continuous feedback.

• Support implementation of packaging equipment and processes.

• Contribute to innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement pipelines.

• Stay up to date on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.

• Build strong networks within internal and external packaging communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

• 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in FMCG.

• Solid knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and machinery.

• Strong project management, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Experience with quality systems, testing methods, and regulatory requirements.

• Fluency in English and Greek, both written and spoken.

• Consumer-first mindset and familiarity with design thinking practices.
