The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of “Freight Forwarder Coordinator | Ναυτιλιακός Πράκτορας ”, for its premises premises in Chalkidiki. The position will be reported to the Logistic and Transport Superintendent of the Surface Logistics department in Skouries.
Main Responsibilities:
· Coordinate the shipment of goods, equipment, materials, and concentrates, ensuring alignment with operational and commercial schedules.
· Identify and select the most efficient and cost-effective transport routes and modes, based on cargo sensitivity, customs requirements, and site-specific needs.
· Communicate with shipping lines, depots, and carriers to secure container availability, confirm bookings, and manage port and terminal operations.
· Prepare and review shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, VGM, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
· Liaise with Legal, Sales & Marketing, and customs brokers to ensure compliance with international trade regulations and client requirements.
· Submit accurate documentation on time to avoid shipment delays, penalties, or additional costs.
· Supervise customs clearance procedures and stay up to date with national and international trade regulations.
· Validate documentation prepared by customs agents and monitor their performance.
· Support internal audits and ensure full compliance with shipping, environmental, and trade regulations.
· Manage relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and port service providers.
· Track service performance, resolve issues, and contribute to contract renewals.
· Collaborate with Finance and Accounting to process invoices and monitor freight budgets.
· Report regularly on shipment progress, freight cost trends, and contract KPIs.
· Participate in logistics planning meetings and align transport plans across all company sites.
· Drive continuous improvement in freight operations, reporting tools, and tracking systems.
Requirements:
· Degree or diploma in Logistics, Maritime Studies, International Trade, or related field.
· Minimum 3 years in freight forwarding, shipping, or import/export logistics roles.
· Proficient in MS Office and ERP platforms (preferably SAP).
· Fluent in English.
· Familiarity with international trade documentation and INCOTERMS.
· Certifications in freight forwarding, customs, or supply chain is a plus.
· Strong coordination and negotiation skills with external partners.
· Proactive, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
· Ability to manage high-pressure situations and shifting priorities.
