As a Purchasing Manager you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient procurement and management of goods and supplies necessary for the smooth operation of the resort. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in maintaining our high standards of service.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

Procurement:

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best quality products at competitive prices.
  • Create and maintain relationships with approved suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Conduct regular market research to identify new products and suppliers.

Inventory Management:

  • Receive, inspect, and document all deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality of items received.
  • Maintain organized and efficient storage areas for all hotel supplies.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed to prevent shortages.
  • Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste and pilferage.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions, including receipts and issuances.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, purchasing activities, and cost analysis.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost control efforts related to procurement.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with all hotel procurement policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that products meet the hotel’s standards.
  • Assist with audits and inspections related to procurement and inventory management.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other hotel departments, such as the kitchen, housekeeping, and maintenance, to understand their procurement needs and ensure timely supply.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in supply chain management or related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in purchasing, inventory control, or storekeeping is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of local suppliers and market trends is an advantage.
