Commercial Director

Our client has an existing opportunity for a Commercial Director to join their business on a permanent basis. This opportunity comes at an exciting time; our client are experiencing steady growth in their market. The incumbent will be responsible for leading and managing our business development team while defining and executing our sales strategy. You will work closely with our executive team to identify and pursue new business opportunities, build and maintain strong relationships with our clients, and drive revenue growth for our company. This position reports directly to the CEO

 

Responsibilities:

You will identify and develop strategic partnerships e.g. salesforce/distribution partnerships or leveraging company structure/resource depending on in-house capabilities, in order to guarantee that the market has the required resource and capabilities in place. In conjunction with the sales team you will engage with customers (e.g., wholesalers, retailers) to support the development of channel distribution levels and in store visibility and provide clear guidance on category sales objectives and activities for the channel. You will build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners, and actively seek out new business opportunities. Collaborate with marketing, product, and other teams to align sales strategies with broader business objectives. Lead negotiations with clients and partners to secure new business deals and contracts.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in B2B sales, business development, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role
  • Prior experience in retail & wholesale 
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in a B2B environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve their goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and partners
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
  • A strong, confident decision maker with a proactive approach
  • Experience of working within a commercial environment at Senior Management level
  • Excellent analytical skills with a passionate attitude
  • A strong desire to succeed
