The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of “Mine Geologist | Γεωλόγος Μεταλλείου”, for its premises in Chalkidiki. The position will be reported to the Chief Geologist of the Technical Services department in Skouries.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct geological logging of drill core in accordance with site geological procedures and standards.
- Assist in the preparation, collection, and dispatch of geological and geochemical samples for laboratory analysis.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of geological data into the designated geological database systems.
- Support drillhole tracking, monitoring, and reporting activities.
- Maintain proper organization, storage, photography, and preservation of drill core within the core shed facilities.
- Assist with QA/QC protocols related to sampling, logging, and geological data management.
- Ensure geological consumables, sampling materials, and equipment are maintained and available for operational requirements.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within the core shed and surrounding work areas.
- Adhere to all Health, Safety, Environmental, and operational procedures and actively promote a safe working culture.
- Provide general support to the broader geology team as required for geological and operational activities.
- Provide geological support to Underground (UG) and Open Pit (OP) operations as required, ensuring alignment between core shed activities and operational priorities.
- Support production geology teams through sample preparation, handling, and dispatch, including participation in field sampling activities in UG and OP areas when required.
- Assist, where required, in basic downhole survey activities and drillhole data validation, under supervision and in accordance with site procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related discipline.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in a core shed, exploration, or mining geology environment.
- Exposure to Open Pit and/or Underground operations is considered an advantage.
- Basic understanding of geological logging and sampling techniques.
- Familiarity with geological database systems and data entry processes.
- Exposure to geological software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, or similar is considered advantageous.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in English.
