The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of “Metallurgical Engineer I Μηχανικός Μεταλλουργίας” for its premises in Chalkidiki. The position will report to the Metallurgy, Planning & Reporting Superintendent of the Process Plant Department, based in Olympias.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily process plant operations to achieve production targets within budget and shifts.
- Enforce health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and LDI frontline supervisor responsibilities.
- Provide daily technical metallurgical support and guidance to optimize mill performance.
- Monitor and evaluate metallurgical performance, analyze test programs and laboratory results for operational decisions and process improvement.
- Define and manage metallurgical KPIs, approving corrective actions and optimization strategies.
- Coordinate metallurgical and QC laboratories to ensure accurate and timely analysis.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for plant operations.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production, metallurgical, and inventory reports.
- Lead process and metallurgical optimization programs, providing technical guidance to personnel and collaborating with operations, maintenance, projects, and external consultants.
- Support operation, ramp-up, and process modifications, ensuring resources, equipment, and laboratory capabilities meet quality and operational requirements.
- Identify training needs, provide guidance, and promote improvement actions.
- Flexible working on a shift basis, according to business needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mineral Processing. MSc/MEng in a related field considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in metallurgical engineering or mineral processing operations, preferably in complex concentrator and flotation plants.
- Expertise in plant optimization, KPI management, and evaluation of laboratory and plant test work.
- Proven leadership and mentoring of metallurgical engineers and senior metallurgists, team development, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Advanced expertise in mineral processing, metallurgical engineering principles, and full-plant process integration.
- Experience in commissioning, ramp-up, debottlenecking, and plant modification projects.
- Strong planning, decision-making, continuous improvement, innovation, and change management.
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for operations, management, and stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license.
