Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Chemical Laboratory Officer to join our METLEN team in Sindos, Thessaloniki.

If you have strong analytical chemistry experience and enjoy working with advanced laboratory instrumentation in a fast-paced industrial environment, we encourage you to submit your CV.

Your role will encompass:

• Perform chemical analyses of process solutions, raw materials, intermediates, and environmental samples.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain advanced laboratory instrumentation.
• Ensure analytical accuracy, quality compliance, and proper documentation of laboratory activities.
• Support plant operations by providing timely and reliable analytical data.
• Follow all HSE and laboratory safety procedures and standards.
• Identify and communicate potential safety hazards related to laboratory equipment and processes.
• Author and review SOPs and Work Instructions (WINs) for laboratory equipment use.
• Maintain and update analytical databases and reporting records.
• Support onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer to shift technicians and new laboratory team members.

What you bring to the role:

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology, Mining, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in an industrial or analytical laboratory environment.
• Solid understanding of wet chemistry and instrumental analysis techniques.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation such as TOC Analyzer, Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), Gas Chromatography (GC-FID), Ion Chromatography (IC), Automatic Titrators, UV-Vis Spectrophotometers/Colorimeters, BOD measurement systems, incubators, thermoreactors, turbidity meters, analytical balances, centrifuges, filtration systems, and related laboratory equipment will be highly appreciated.
• Hands-on experience with metallurgical sample types will be considered a strong advantage.
• Strong safety mindset with high attention to detail and analytical accuracy.
• Integrity, accountability, and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic industrial environment and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
