Power & Gas Market Risk Analyst

Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Power & Gas Market Risk Analyst to join our Market Risk/ Middle Office team part of our Treasury & Investors Relations General Division, based in Athens. This role works closely with multiple internal stakeholders and plays a key role in ensuring transparency, control, and sound risk management practices.

Your role will encompass:

• Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Market Risk Monitoring frameworks, tools, and controls for power and gas trading
• Perform daily P&L reporting, risk attribution, and reconciliation of trading results
• Monitor, analyze, and report market risk exposures, ensuring alignment with approved trading limits and risk appetite
• Develop and maintain trade validation controls and oversee the full deal lifecycle
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly risk and performance reports for traders, management, and internal stakeholders
• Act as a trusted partner to Front Office, Back Office, Finance, Treasury, and IT, ensuring data accuracy, transparency, and strong process governance
• Support the implementation, enhancement, and optimization of the Energy Trading and Risk Management system, contributing to automation and efficiency improvements
• Serve as a key control function in the review of trading strategies, new products, and risk methodologies, including participation in governance and approval processes

What you bring to the role:

• A degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field; a Master's degree or relevant certification is a plus
• Solid experience, at least 5 years, in Market Risk within energy trading environments
• Strong understanding of European power and gas markets and related trading instruments
• Good knowledge of risk metrics and methodologies such as VaR, Greeks, stress testing, and scenario analysis
• Hands-on experience with Bloomberg and other market data platforms, plus strong Excel skills
• Fluency in English, written and spoken
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
• A proactive, organized, and curious mindset, with a willingness to learn, adapt, and take ownership
