The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of Mine Planning & Design Engineer (Μηχανικός Μεσοπρόθεσμου και Μακροπρόθεσμου Σχεδιασμού Μεταλλείου) for its premises in Chalkidiki. The position will report to the Mine Planning and Engineering Superintendent of the Technical Services department, based in Olympias.
Main Responsibilities:
- Designing medium- to long-term plans for the economic extraction of ore based on the geological block model and MSO.
- Developing 3- to 24-month plans and schedules, ensuring all stakeholders have clear visibility of mine production plans, and that monthly operations are aligned with the rolling 3-month plan.
- Completing quarterly forecasts and producing estimate of physicals.
- Providing key support to business planning, budgeting, and life-of-mine strategies.
- Assisting with the development of the MRMR state and associated reports.
- Work closely with the geology department, Mine Operations and Technical Services team to ensure achievement of tactical targets and suitability of designs for implementation.
- Maintain the integrated Life of Mine (LoM) model in line with current designs and carry out the necessary updates based on new geological information and reviews.
- Ensure new designs are reviewed and approved prior to production and that mine design standards are applied.
- Optimize production through mine design and production scheduling, using MSO software to validate designs.
- Compare actual stope performance and plan compliance on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Provide operational and technical support through mine plan and schedule, design and implementation.
- Perform medium-term planning and other duties as well as other ad hoc projects as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, or other relevant engineering degree
- Postgraduate degree is an advantage
- At least 4 years of experience in mine planning, design and/or underground mine operations
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft, Deswik, and Autodesk software packages, as well as general knowledge of mine planning software
- Good verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English
- Strong focus on safe work practices
- Valid Category B driving license
