MAKRIS Athens by Domes

Domes Resorts lands in Athens, introducing our first degustation restaurant in Thissio. Our talented, Michelin Starred Chef Patron Petros Dimas, alongside with a team of culinary experts will create the ultimate fine dining experience based on Greek creative cuisine.

We are currently hiring for Athens, looking for a highly energetic and passionate Restaurant Sales & Development Manager, joining our team at MAKRIS Athens by Domes.

The Role:

The Restaurant Sales & Development Manager drives profitable event and corporate business by owning the full sales cycle from enquiry through post-event close. The role combines proactive business development, disciplined lead follow-up, and consultative selling to convert opportunities into confirmed events while maximizing revenue through tailored proposals and upgrades. Working closely with culinary and operations teams, the Manager ensures clear communication, seamless planning, accurate billing, and high-quality on-site event delivery, acting as a visible client contact to resolve issues in real time and uphold brand and service standards.

Some of the responsibilities:

  • Actively solicit new business and respond to enquiries with the intention of confirming profitable events business and achieving pre agreed Sales Goals.
  • Maintain a robust and disciplined trace & follow-up system for all enquiries, leads and personal sales calls to maximize conversion.
  • Own the end-to-end event sales cycle: qualification, needs analysis, proposals, contracting, deposits/payment terms, follow-up, closing, and post-event billing.
  • Drive proactive corporate business development through regular in-person field sales (“door-to-door”) outreach to targeted companies and decision-makers, converting meetings into proposals and confirmed business.
  • Host and guide venue/show rounds for prospective clients and planners and provide a polished experience for business and social event stakeholders.
  • Participate in (and where needed lead) internal and client-facing meetings and planning touchpoints, including operational briefings, event sales huddles, booking handovers, alignment meetings, sales updates, pre-event/pre-convention planning sessions, menu tastings, and site visits.
  • Confirm event details and convert requirements into clear operational documentation, while driving incremental revenue through experience-led upgrades and add-ons; ensure seamless communication across all relevant departments.
  • Validate event billing accuracy, complete final charge reviews with the client where appropriate, and deliver timely periodic reporting on bookings and performance.
  • Escalate risks, service issues, or atypical situations promptly to the Chef Patron, providing clear context and recommended actions.
  • Oversee on-site delivery of banquet and catered events, conducting pre-event space checks with operations leadership and ensuring the client experience is strong from arrival through close.
  • Act as a visible point of contact during events to anticipate needs, resolve issues in real time, and ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • Uphold brand and service standards in all sales and marketing activity, maintaining professional and collaborative relationships with colleagues and planning stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a corporate prospect base and outreach cadence, tracking activity and outcomes to deliver measurable growth (appointments, proposals, conversion and revenue).


Requirements

Useful to have:

  • Proven experience in restaurant, hospitality, or events sales, preferably within a luxury or lifestyle brand environment.
  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of event contracting, billing, and revenue optimization.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, sales reporting, and structured follow-up processes.
