Our client, one of the largest integrated providers of shipping, logistics and marine-related services, seeks to recruit an Airfreight Manager.  

About the role

We are looking for an Airfreight Manager (Branch and Product Manager), reporting to the General Manager, with proven experience to the specific industry.

Main responsibilities

• Manage the overall functioning of the department effectively, by adopting progressive management techniques, strategic planning, leadership, vision, and guidance.
• Maintains tight relations with airlines, airport handling companies and airport authorities.
• Meets and exceeds the sales goals of the department.
• Overlooks company’s international relations with agents, principals as well as local service providers i.e., customs brokers, truckers, warehouses, etc.
• Ensures that the overall plans of the department are met by continuously monitoring its performance. Has an active role in sales, in export rate negotiation and overlooks operations.
• To liaise between his department and other companies/customers and Top Management on matters of mutual concern.
• To consider and approve in co-operation with the General Management, proposals for employment, promotion, transfer, and termination of staff.
• Takes initiatives, acts resourcefully, and has the interest in growing within the industry.
• To consider and approve budgetary proposals and expenses.
• Evaluates the performance of the suppliers/subagents, ensuring that all subcontractors meet their obligations.
• Interacts with colleagues at all levels in a positive manner that encourages fairness, honesty, and respect.
• Oversee team’s performance, provides guidance, motivates & communicates annual targets and expectations.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transportations, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
• Master’s Degree will be considered as an asset.
• At least 10 years of experience in air freight industry.
• Excellent command of the English language; both written and oral.
• Excellent Computer literacy and proficient in MS Office.
• Conflict management with problem solving mentality.
• Organisational skills & attention to detail.
• Decision making and effective communication skills.
• Multitasking & Prioritizing.
