Job's purpose

As a Data Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in harnessing the power of data to drive strategic decision-making within our organization. Your purpose is to lead the Data Governance framework and the design of an efficient Data Analytics Ecosystem as well as to accelerate organizational data literacy. You will guide a team of Business Intelligence (BI) developers and data engineering analysts, ensuring the effective management, integration, and utilization of data flows to drive insights.

What you will focus on

• Develop an integrated blueprint that incorporates both the central Data Platforms (Azure & SAP) and the data streams stored locally
• Collaborate with CoE associates & group data architects to design and maintain common data models and structures
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data warehousing solutions
• Secure the necessary data infrastructure to enable predictive analytics & drive ML initiatives
• Monitor & optimize data processing and storage for performance and scalability
• Identify and implement data performance improvements and cost optimizations
• Lead Data Governance framework by developing E2E Data Governance processes & standards, ensuring data quality and compliance as well as implementing improvement initiatives.
• Support the development of interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations
• Promote self-service analytics by providing reporting streams that align with critical key performance areas and promote fact-based decision making in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders

Who we are looking for

• Academic background in computer science, data science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of working experience in data management, data operations, or a related role and at least 3 years of leading technical teams
• Expertise in data warehousing and database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake).
• Proficiency in data integration tools and ETL processes (e.g. Databricks, Azure Data Factory)
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of data governance principles, data security, and compliance regulations
• SAP BW and Business Objects experience will be considered a strong plus
• Professional certifications in data management or related areas would be a plus (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, AWS Certified Data Analytics).
• Experience with machine learning and advanced analytics tools (e.g., Python, R) as well as with Business Intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) would be a plus
