About Us:

Medwork, a leading pharmacovigilance service provider in Greece, is seeking a motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our growing technical team in a supporting role.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity to support our data science initiatives across statistical analysis, automation development, machine learning and data visualization. You will work closely with our team to assist with signal detection, regulatory reporting, and internal system development projects. This role offers hands-on learning experience while contributing to our pharmacovigilance operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Modelling:

• Assist with statistical analyses on clinical and pharmacovigilance data to support signal detection and regulatory reporting automation.
• Support the development and implementation of machine learning models for business applications, including predictive modeling for pricing and decision support systems.
• Help analyze datasets to identify trends and insights using statistical and machine learning methods with supervision.

Automation & Tool Development:

• Apply natural language processing techniques for data cleaning, drug name standardization, and case processing automation under guidance.
• Contribute to building internal tools and automated systems to streamline business processes, data processing, and workflow optimization.
• Support database maintenance tasks; perform data cleaning, organization, and basic integration activities.

Collaboration & Communication

• Assist in creating automated reporting systems, analytics dashboards, and data visualizations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with pharmacovigilance and business teams to understand requirements and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Communicate findings and progress clearly with cross-functional teams.

 

Qualifications:

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
• Proficiency in Python and knowledge of SQL programming.
• Good Foundation in statistics and data analysis.
• Experience in machine learning techniques (academic or personal projects).
• Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools (e.g., pandas, matplotlib, etc.).
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and eagerness to learn from complex analytical information.

 

Additionally:

• Experience with healthcare, clinical, or pharmacovigilance data is a plus.
• Fluency in English is required.
