The University of Nicosia invites applications for the role of Laboratory Technician for our upcoming Athens campus. This role is vital for the facilitation and delivery of practical laboratory sessions within the medical education curriculum.

*Subject to meeting all regulatory and legal requirements in Cyprus and Greece.

 Main Responsibilities:

•  Prepare practical laboratory sessions, as well as Clinical Skills and Ultrasound teaching sessions, for all medical programs.
• Maintain a clean and tidy storeroom, including service log books and records.
• Ensure clinical waste is properly collected for official disposal.
• Assist during practical sessions across anatomy, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, histology, microbiology, physics and physiology laboratory sessions, offering support to both students and staff, including washing glassware (if necessary).
• Assist medical students with Clinical Skills Self-Directed Learning (SDL) practice during working hours.
• Assist in the setup and smooth execution of (OSCE) assessments.
• Assist with receiving new equipment and consumables, ensuring the lab remains fully stocked and operational.
• Adhere to all laboratory policies, with a strong emphasis on Health & Safety regulations.

Requirements:

•  Undergraduate science degree (minimum). Postgraduate studies will be an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong proficiency in both written and spoken Greek and English.
• Team player and attention to detail when independently preparing clinical skills sessions.
• Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Professional demeanor in interactions with students and staff at all levels of the organization.

The ideal candidate should be eligible to work in the European Union / European Economic Area.

The Medical School at UNIC Athens plans to offer both MD tracks and the PhD degree.
