JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking for a Legal Counsel to join our OKTO team! The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking the responsibility of proactively handling a broad range of legal issues and mainly be focused on preparation, drafting and reviewing of commercial contracts in the e-money and / or payment services field.
Responsibilities:
As a Legal Counsel of Okto you will be responsible for:
- Draft, negotiate and review various contracts of a wide range of commercial law subject matters especially relating to e-money and payments services;
- Prepare and review of legal and corporate documentation (including decisions of the companies’ constitutional bodies etc);
- The provision of legal support and advice to the OKTO’s divisions mainly in the wider area of corporate and commercial law (e.g. e-money and payment services law, rules imposed by the local & European regulatory authorities- EBA etc, company’s law, consumer’s law etc);
- Liaise with external lawyers to ensure our legal department’s workflow runs smoothly;
- Collaborate in team-oriented environment, develop innovative approaches to solving regulatory challenges.
- Support the project’s legal management (monitor progress of the projects, coordinate between client, counter-party and other advisors, provide guidance on project implementation);
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law and an LL.M with a specialization in commercial law areas (preferably in Banking, Finance & Corporate Law);
- At least 5 years' working experience as a lawyer in the Fintech sector or alternatively in a law firm specialized accordingly in projects related to the banking industry (previous experience in the banking or payments sector is considered a strong plus);
- Demonstrable experience in commercial law, company law and banking, especially in regulatory & corporate governance related issues;
- Previous experience in Data Protection Law will be considered a strong asset;
- Experience in dealing with complex legal & regulatory compliance issues with significant financial impact;
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and conflicting demands;
- Excellent legal analytical skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in Greek and English;
- Focus on delivering work of high quality;
- Positivity, team spirit and strong interpersonal skills;
