Job Description

A day in the life of an Oracle SOA Architect for EU Institutions Projects

As an Oracle SOA Architect, you will be part of a high-performing and cross-functional team responsible for the maintenance of the Software Platform of a large EU institution. The role includes designing the platform architecture comprising several components and technologies, coordinating the technical activities performed by the technical team, and monitoring the test automation process.

Your main duties will be to: 

• Be responsible for the architecture and high-level design of (new) information systems/components linked to the Java-based platforms (Linux Red-Hat, Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, ELK, Kafka)
• Design and perform the technical coordination of the team in the following activities:
  • migration to a Cloud Environment (AWS)
  • automation of platform maintenance tasks through Infrastructure-as-a-Code scripts (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins)
  • transformation from a typical VM environment (Weblogic cluster) to container-based environment (Docker, Kubernetes, Tanzu)
• Hold the role of the Technical Interface between Project Leaders, Service Management, and the teams of Analysts and Developers
• Participate in technical working groups, progress meetings, and meetings with the users

Qualifications

If you have:

• Solid knowledge of Unix-based System Administration and Networking Concepts, understanding of Database Architectures
• Working knowledge of market-leading Middleware platforms (Oracle Weblogic, ELK, Kafka)
• Experience in Cloud-based Architecture (ideally AWS)
• Familiarization with Container-based Environments (ideally Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarization with Infrastructure-As-A-Code technologies (ideally Ansible, Terraform)
• Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies and to create and initialize processes
• Ability to cooperate with other team members and other teams targeting a common goal
• Ability to facilitate the discussion and resolution of complex issues
