ACS Athens, a student-centered international school embracing American educational philosophy, principles, and values, is seeking to recruit an Innovation Lab Technician. This role involves providing hands-on technical support for student projects across all school levels, guiding students in prototyping and problem-solving to bring their ideas to fruition.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Technical Guidance: Assist students engaged in innovation and entrepreneurship projects, offering support in prototyping, fabrication, and digital design, including 3D printing, laser cutting, and robotics.
• Manage Innovation Lab Resources: Oversee the maintenance and organization of lab equipment, tools, and software, ensuring a safe and efficient workspace.
• Support Coding and Electronics Projects: Guide students in coding, electronics, and engineering concepts pertinent to their projects.
• Foster Student-Centered Learning: Encourage inquiry-based instruction and support students in developing their technical skills through hands-on experiences.
• Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work with faculty members to integrate innovation lab activities into various subject areas, promoting interdisciplinary learning.
• Stay Current with Emerging Technologies: Continuously update knowledge of makerspaces, digital fabrication tools, and prototyping technologies to enhance the lab's offerings.
• Promote Innovation and Creativity: Cultivate an environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving among students.
• Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the administration.
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, industrial design, or a related technical field.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with makerspaces, digital fabrication tools, and prototyping technologies; proficiency in 3D modeling, coding (e.g., Python, Arduino), and robotics.
• Mentorship Skills: Ability to mentor and guide students of varying ages in developing their technical skills.
• Organizational Abilities: Strong organizational and communication skills, coupled with a collaborative mindset.
• International Experience: Experience in an international or multicultural school setting is a plus.
