Job Description:
We are looking for a Software Engineer - Generative AI to join our Applied Research & Development AVOKADO team, based in Athens, Greece. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for developing production-grade software solutions that power our Generative AI platform, transforming advanced AI models into scalable, secure, and user-facing applications using the AWS ecosystem.

Your role will encompass:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize production-ready software for our Generative AI platform and related services using Python and AWS technologies.
• Design and implement scalable architectures leveraging AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, S3, Lambda, and API Gateway.
• Transform Generative AI solutions into robust, maintainable, and well-integrated software products.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable deployment, monitoring, and scaling of AI workloads.
• Develop high-performance APIs to enable seamless integration of Generative AI capabilities with internal and external systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between AI models, software architecture, and business requirements.
• Contribute to performance optimization, scalability, and continuous improvement of AI-driven applications.

What you bring to the role:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
• +2 years of experience in software development, preferably in cloud-based environments.
• Hands-on experience with the AWS ecosystem, including services such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, S3, Lambda, and API Gateway.
• Strong proficiency in Python for backend development.
• Understanding of Generative AI concepts, including Large Language Models (LLMs). Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) will be considered an asset.
• Experience designing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-based solutions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software deployment practices.
• Experience with JavaScript and frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js) will be considered a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
