Job Summary
The IT Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, execution, controls and completion of assigned Information Technology projects. Leads the planning and implementation of multiple projects, and facilitates the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with the stakeholders. Identifies, and defines project tasks and resource requirements as well as develops full scale project plans. Assembles and coordinates project resources (internal and/or contracted staff) in collaboration with resource managers to ensure appropriate skills and technicians are provided to support and deliver work products which meets business goals and objectives. Responsible for managing project budgets, resources (internal/vendor) and timeline through final work product delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide Project/ Program Management for assigned IT projects (Applications and Infrastructure).
- Manage projects/ programs from inception to completion.
- Utilize processes and tools within the IT PMO to track spend, including approved budgets, actuals and forecasts.
- Manage schedules, budget, resources and timelines.
- Responsible for compliance to applicable IT processes and procedures and ensuring that projects/ programs which include validated systems adhere to applicable system validation requirements.
- Align projects/ programs with Release cycle schedules. Has good understanding of Change Management.
- Maintain processes and tools within the IT PMO to track project/ program status, including utilization of defined criteria to assess overall project health.
- Facilitate meetings and coordinate resources to ensure successful projects/ programs.
- Develop, prioritize and track action items and issues, document all necessary items as needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project plans, showing tasks, resources, dependencies and status throughout the life of the project, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Track and follow up on deliverables, escalate to leadership as required.
- Maintain risk register.
- Track project/ program inter dependencies.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in business or computer science
- PMP or CAPM certification required
- 5+ years practical experience in IT services
- 5+ years experience managing IT projects
- Ability to interface with technical employees, senior executives and clients
- Strong ability to set objectives/goals and establish action plans to get goals accomplished
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Team Player, Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Visio preferred
