Role and responsibilities:

 

Provide remote and on-board support to vessels 

Install configure and troubleshoot of physical/virtual machines , printers, storage systems and network devices

Install and configure server and network systems on board company's vessels

Monitor performance and ensure system availability 

Maintain IT security and backup solutions

Provide out of hours  / weekend support as part of on call rotation

 

 

Required Skills:

 

Bsc in Computer Science or equivalent

Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems 

Knowledge of Cisco routing and firewall

Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, data cabling 

Knowledge of ships automation systems

Knowledge of Lotus Domino email and replication system will be a plus

Knowledge of Fleet Broadband , Inmarsat FX and VSAT Ku system will be a plus

Ability to travel abroad
