We're seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. As a crucial member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our SQL database systems. If you have a keen eye for detail, a knack for problem-solving, and a passion for ensuring the reliability and performance of database systems, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
1) Database Installation and Configuration:
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL database software.
- Ensure proper security and access controls are in place.
2) Database Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Optimize queries and database performance for efficiency.
3) Backup and Recovery:
- Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies.
- Test and validate backup processes regularly.
4) Security Management:
- Implement and manage database security measures to protect sensitive data
- Stay current on security best practices and implement necessary updates.
5) Capacity Planning
- Conduct capacity planning and recommend hardware/software upgrades as needed
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure scalability of the database environment.
6) Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems.
- Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members.
7) Collaboration:
- Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to resolve database-related issues.
- Provide support and guidance to colleagues on database-related matters.
Requirements
1) Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2) Experience:
- At least 5 years proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, MySQL, or other relational database management systems.
3) Skills:
- Strong proficiency in SQL scripting and query optimization.
- Familiarity with database design principles and normalization.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
4) Certifications:
- Optional, but beneficial: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate, etc.
