Gap Inc. Greece is seeking an HR Officer & Accounting Support who will manage daily HR operations and provide accounting support, ensuring smooth operations, compliance, and efficiency. The role is actively involved in both HR and Accounting functions, with primary responsibility for the day-to-day execution and coordination of HR activities, including independently managing HR administrative processes such as employee lifecycle activities and payroll-related inputs, while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

In parallel, the role provides support to the Accounting department in areas such as invoice processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting, working under the guidance of the Accounting Manager.

This position requires a high level of ownership, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations for the company’s store network and support functions.
  • Manage the recruitment process (job postings, CV screening, interviews, and candidate evaluation) and coordinate hiring activities for retail stores in close collaboration with Store Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with Greek labor and social security legislation, as well as internal HR policies and procedures, and provide guidance on these matters.
  • Manage submissions in ERGANI II system (hires, terminations, contract amendments, working schedule changes, etc.), ensuring timely and accurate filings.
  • Coordinate payroll processes with the external payroll provider, ensuring accurate employee data submission and reviewing payroll outputs to ensure alignment with employee records, working schedules, and employment changes.
  • Monitor the implementation of the Digital Work Card in line with the applicable regulatory framework.
  • Oversee the proper functionality of HR systems and tools.
  • Identify and resolve system issues in collaboration with IT and/or external vendors.
  • Follow up on employee social security and insurance matters in collaboration with the external payroll provider, when needed.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support HR lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and preparation of employment documentation.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, supporting enrollments, updates, and employee inquiries while coordinating with external providers where applicable.
  • Act as a point of contact for Store Managers and employees on HR administration matters.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and standardization of HR operational processes.

 Finance

  • Record and process invoices and accounting entries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update accounts payable ledgers.
  • Support month-end closing activities and related reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports.
  • Provide support with ad hoc accounting and finance tasks as needed.
  • Perform general administrative duties in support of the Finance Department.
  • Monitor and reconcile balances of customers, suppliers, and bank accounts.
  • Perform reconciliations related to myDATA requirements.

 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to support the smooth operation of the company’s retail network.
  • Ensure effective, timely, and clear communication across all relevant stakeholders.

 Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of combined experience in HR Operations and Accounting/Finance support roles.
  • Solid understanding of Greek labor and social security legislation and HR administrative processes.
  • Experience working with ERGANI II and familiarity with the Digital Work Card framework.
  • Experience coordinating payroll processes with an external payroll provider.
  • Experience in finance and accounting processes (e.g. invoice processing, reconciliations, reporting) is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in HR and financial data and operational processes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with HR and financial systems. Experience with the ScanHRMS and Pylon is a strong plus.
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
