PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Are you passionate about payroll accuracy and internal controls?

We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist with a strong auditing mindset to join our team and ensure our payroll operations are not only timely, but also fully compliant and audit ready.

What You’ll Do:

• Process payroll, ensuring the accuracy, compliance, efficiency and integrity of salary policy and payroll processes and operations.
• Ensure payroll transactions comply with internal policies, labor laws, and regulations.
• Identify inefficiencies or risks in payroll operations and propose process enhancements.
• Identify discrepancies, errors, or inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead initiatives to improve payroll processes and internal controls.
• Develop and document standardized payroll procedures and checklists.
• Maintain clear documentation of payroll activities and audit resolutions.
• Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Demonstrate high-level knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems, ensuring accurate data input, configuration, and reporting.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll management or payroll auditing, preferably in organizations with structured processes and compliance standards.
• Advanced proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of labor laws, collective agreements, and internal audit methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to initiate procedures and drive follow-up actions to completion.
• High level of confidentiality and integrity.
