The University of Nicosia is inviting applications for its UNIC Athens Campus for the position of Finance Officer. This role is integral to the daily financial operations of the campus, including the management of student financial transactions, monitoring institutional accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage student registrations and oversee financial transactions, including tuition fees and scholarships.
• Maintain and update student payment records and support the collection process.
• Communicate with students to resolve financial queries and issues.
• Monitor student instalment plans and follow up as required.
• Prepare and issue monthly statements of account.
• Record and manage financial transactions, including accounts payable and journal entries.
• Ensure compliance with tax and social insurance obligations in line with national regulations.
• Prepare bank transactions and perform reconciliations.
• Produce regular and ad-hoc administrative and financial reports.
• Support audit processes and prepare the necessary documentation.
• Perform general administrative duties within the department.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including Greek Accounting Standards and IFRSs, as well as tax regulations and compliance practices.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
