Role Overview
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as a key executive leader responsible for the financial health of the company and for providing operational and managerial oversight across several business functions, including legal, human resources, administration, and compliance.
As part of a small, family-owned company, the CFO must combine strong financial expertise with hands‑on involvement in day‑to‑day operations. This role works closely with the General Manager to ensure the company remains financially strong, legally compliant, operationally efficient, and strategically aligned with long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Monitor performance metrics, cash flow, profitability, and financial risks.
- Prepare financial reports.
- Ensure accurate accounting practices.
- Manage relationships with banks, accountants, and auditors.
- Oversee financial controls and procedures.
Financial Operations
- Supervise accounting functions.
- Optimize financial processes.
- Manage liquidity, working capital, and investments.
- Ensure timely tax filings and statutory reports.
Legal & Compliance Oversight
- Serve as the point of contact for legal matters.
- Manage contracts and negotiations.
- Ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with external legal advisors.
Human Resources Management
- Oversee HR policies and labor law compliance.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
- Support employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Manage compensation and benefits.
Operational & Managerial Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in daily operations.
- Identify inefficiencies and lead improvements.
- Participate in strategic planning and growth initiatives.
- Provide cross-functional leadership.
Leadership & Culture
- Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager.
- Promote transparency, accountability, and collaboration.
- Mentor finance, HR, and administrative staff.
- Uphold the family-oriented values of the business.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- First degree certificate (ΥπογραφήΑ΄τάξης)
- 10+ years of experience in managerial positions / finance or accounting leadership.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Experience in SMEs or family businesses.
- Ability to manage diverse responsibilities.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Proven leadership experience.
- Very good knowledge of MS Excel and Office.
- Experience with ERP Software
- Very good knowledge of English
