Scope of the role:
The role is responsible for overseeing key financial controlling activities across the organization’s operations in Greece and selected international markets. It involves ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. The position supports effective resource allocation and provides financial insights that contribute to informed decision-making.
Regular collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders is an essential part of the role. The position also contributes to business planning processes and ensures alignment with corporate financial policies and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control financial processes and resources to ensure compliance with internal policies and external accounting standards.
- Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements, profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and regulatory filings.
- Oversee preparation of financial reporting and planning for reporting purposes, following company requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of required financial documentation.
- Oversee financial reporting for taxation, insurance, credit control, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Provide financial guidance to management and assess the impact of changing laws and regulations.
- Actively contribute to the development of the annual and multi-year business plan
- Coordinate the procurement and allocation of financial resources according to company policy and manage treasury operations.
- Manage relationships with external consultants and stakeholders
- Oversee financial or contractual disputes in coordination with the Legal Department.
- Facilitate expansion by handling the financial and legal requirements.
- Collaborate closely with finance teams across the organization to ensure alignment on reporting, policies, and strategic initiatives.
- Manage contract negotiations and payment processes with private insurance providers.
Requirements:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; a Master’s degree or professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) are a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in financial management, including at least 2 years in a role with increased responsibility in controlling or finance.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS and local GAAP), tax compliance, and reporting.
- Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and financial audit.
- Experience in preparing statutory financial statements and budget reports.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in ERP systems.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience supervising and developing team members.
- Multi-year experience in similar roles within global manufacturing settings.
- High integrity, accountability, and ability to perform under pressure in a cross-functional environment.
