Day to Day Tasks:
✅ Accurately record financial transactions in the ERP system (SAP), including handling invoices and credit notes
✅ Ensure financial records are prepared in accordance with IFRS, with particular attention to accounting issues common in retail operations
✅ Maintain and account for leases of retail locations, warehouses, and equipment. Ensure accurate lease liability and right-of-use asset recognition, including lease modifications, renewals, and discount rate adjustments.
✅ Manage the end-to-end accounting of fixed assets, including acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, transfer, and disposal in compliance with company policy and IFRS
✅ Maintain the fixed asset register in SAP, ensuring it is complete, accurate, and regularly updated.
✅ Calculate and record monthly depreciation and ensure appropriate alignment with the asset’s useful life and business usage
✅ Assist in the preparation and submission of tax filings, including VAT, corporate income tax, and withholding tax, ensuring compliance with local regulations and deadlines
✅ Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants during audits and reviews, providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries
✅ Monitor changes in tax regulations and support the department in ensuring compliance
✅ Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
✅ Monitor and adhere to deadlines associated with accounting-related tasks
✅ Foster a collaborative environment by actively supporting other departments, providing expertise and assistance when required
How you match:
✅ Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a retail or fast-paced environment
✅ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
✅ Experience usingSAP or similar ERP systems for financial management
✅ Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines
✅ Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
✅ Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment
