DEMO S.A., one of the world’s leading manufacturers of injectable pharmaceutical products, is seeking a Technical Department Manager to support its continued growth at its production facilities in Kryoneri, Attica.
Role Overview
The Technical Department Manager will have full responsibility for the reliable operation, maintenance strategy, and continuous improvement of production and utility equipment. The role combines people leadership, technical governance, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring high equipment availability, compliance, and operational excellence in a 24/7 pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall accountability for the operation, performance, and lifecycle management of production lines and supporting technical infrastructure.
- Definition, implementation, and continuous optimization of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to ensure maximum equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Leadership, development, and performance management of the technical team, including skills development, training planning, and succession readiness.
- Coordination with other functions within the Technical Division and with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to address operational challenges and improvement initiatives.
- Oversight of technical documentation, including equipment logs, maintenance records, and troubleshooting flowcharts, ensuring accuracy and regulatory readiness.
- Budget ownership for spare parts and maintenance-related expenditures, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Management of maintenance contracts and technical service agreements with external vendors and contractors.
- Leadership of technical improvement, upgrade, and capital investment projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Assurance of full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, fostering a strong safety culture across the technical organization.
- Availability to support site operations on a 24/7 basis, as required by business continuity needs.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (AEI/TEI or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial technical role, responsible for production lines, ideally within the pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in overseeing electromechanical projects and coordinating technical works.
- Strong working knowledge of engineering design tools and electromechanical study software.
- Solid understanding of Occupational Health & Safety principles and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent command of both Greek and English, written and spoken.
- Demonstrated people management capability, with experience leading internal teams and coordinating external service providers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive structured problem-solving.
