The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of “Metallurgist | Μεταλλουργός”, for its premises in Chalkidiki. The position will be reported to the Senior Metallurgist of the Processing department in Skouries.
Main Responsibilities:
- Execute plant and laboratory sampling to approved procedures; maintain chain-of-custody, labelling, preservation and traceability.
- Prepare samples (drying, splitting, grinding, sizing) and perform routine metallurgical tests (e.g., flotation batch tests, grind checks, density, % solids, pH).
- Assist with preparation, setup and monitoring of plant trials; collect operating data, validate trial conditions and record observations.
- Capture, organize and validate data; perform basic QA/QC checks, calculate simple metrics (recoveries, ratios) and flag anomalies.
- Maintain cleanliness, calibration checks and basic maintenance of laboratory and sampling equipment.
- Compile draft figures, photos and data tables to support structured metallurgical reports prepared by the Senior Metallurgist.
- Follow site safety procedures and controls for reagents, rotating equipment, pressure lines and high-density slurries; stop work and escalate when risk is unacceptable.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline.
- 1–3 years’ experience in mineral processing operations, metallurgical laboratory or similar industrial environment (internships considered).
- Hands-on experience and solid understanding of sampling, sample preparation, laboratory QA/QC, and routine metallurgical testing to ensure representative and reliable results.
- Training in sampling, laboratory QA/QC or metallurgical testwork considered an advantage.
- Foundational knowledge of mineral processing and flotation principles; eagerness to develop metallurgical capability.
- Accuracy, attention to detail and disciplined record keeping; ability to follow detailed work instructions.
- Basic data handling (spreadsheets), calculation of simple recoveries/mass balances under guidance.
- Clear, timely communication of observations, anomalies and risks to the Senior Metallurgist.
- Strong safety mindset and hazard awareness in laboratory and plant environments.
