The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic systems on yachts, ensuring compliance with maritime safety standards and company quality requirements. This role requires expertise in both AC/DC marine systems, batteries, inverters, and marine electronics, as well as the ability to collaborate closely with engineering, carpentry, and mechanical teams during construction, refits, and maintenance projects.

1.Key Responsibilities:

Installation

• Fit and wire electrical systems, including lighting, navigation equipment, communication devices, and power distribution.
• Mount and connect power distribution panels, inverters, and batteries.
• Pull insulated wires or cables through conduits, tubing, and hidden areas.
• Follow blueprints, sketches, and technical manuals for accurate placement.

Maintenance & Repair

• Diagnose electrical faults using voltmeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing devices.
• Repair or replace wiring, fixtures, and electrical equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all AC/DC systems.
• Conduct annual servicing and maintenance on client yachts.

Safety Compliance

• Ensure electrical systems meet maritime regulations and company quality standards.
• Inspect systems for hazards, proper grounding, and insulation.
• Document compliance and safety checks.

Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering, carpentry, and mechanical teams during construction or refit projects.
• Coordinate installation routes with other trades to avoid conflicts.

Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance schedules.
• Prepare sketches, estimates, and technical documentation.
• Update client service records.

Troubleshooting & Customer Interaction

• Diagnose system problems for clients and recommend solutions.
• Provide cost estimates for repair, replacement, or upgrades.
• Perform customer follow-ups post-service.
• Communicate with manufacturers regarding technical equipment or spare parts.

Physical & Technical Tasks

• Work from ladders, scaffolds, or elevated areas.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment.
• Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motors.
• Construct and fabricate electrical elements according to specifications.
• Operate emergency equipment (floodlights, generators) when needed.

2.Qualifications:

• Technical diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Marine Electrics, or equivalent.
• Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in yacht, marine, or shipbuilding environments.
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems, batteries, inverters, and marine electronic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good communication skills for client interaction and coordination with manufacturers.
