Following our business strategy for market development we are looking for: 

Safety, Environment & Licensing Manager 

Main duties and responsibilities will include

  • Leading the implementation of the Heidelberg Materials Group’s Environmental Policy and Health and Safety (H&S) Policy along with industrial hygiene matters and the promotion of the relative cultures by an active support to all managers and a visible personal commitment; 
  • Supporting the Operational Management for the identification of Heidelberg Materials Hellas environmental and H&S investments budgeting and planning 
  • Developing, maintaining and ensuring effective implementation of the Environmental, H&S Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001),;  
  • Ensuring the environmental compliance to applicable permits, laws and regulations, Heidelberg Materials Group’s standards regarding Environment and H&S, operational guidelines and best practices  
  • Validating and reporting relevant key performance indicators (e.g. H&S, greenhouse gas emission, etc.), including support to the development to environmental product declarations certifications as required; 
  • Promoting the responsible use of alternative fuels and raw materials, in compliance with the Group’s Policies and in collaboration with the related Departments; 
  • Monitoring and interpret changes environment and H&S legislation, providing guidance to Heidelberg Materials Hellas S.A. management for compliance; 
  • Coordinate license renewals, monitor expiration dates, and provide timely updates to management; 
  • Maintain licenses relevant to HSE activities;; 
  • Developing and maintaining the H&S Management System in line with legal and Group’s H&S requirements and Standards, supporting and monitoring the effective implementation. 
  • Organizing implementation and Evaluation the of  H&S Targets and Annual H&S Action Plan. 
  • Acting as safety engineer as required by Greek legislation, conducting regular site visits, leading root cause analysis, incidents investigation management and records. 
  • Organizing deliveries of PPE and working cloths for own staff and supervising the right use of personal protective equipment and respecting the H&S rules at the industrial site by employees and contractors, proposing corrective measures where necessary. 
  • Handling with Purchase requisitions in SAP 
  • Develops in collaboration with involved department H&S procedures, instructions, etc., coordinates the process of Risk assessment and studies with external companies. 
  • Supports the organization of the H&S training programs and performs H&S induction training to new comers,  
  • Organize periodical monitoring of work and environmental parameters. 

The ideal candidate shall possess the following skills & qualifications

  • University Technical degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.  
  • Master degree on Health and Safety and/or Master degree on Environment (e.g., Ecology and Environmental Engineering or Chemistry)) is considered an advantage; 
  • 5 years experience in manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in a managerial or equivalent role). 
  • Strong computer skills (spreadsheets, database, SAP, internet, e-mail) 
  • Knowledge of certification systems for, Environmental, Energy and H&S system of certifications (ISO  ISO 14001, 50001, 45001 and others) is an advantage 
  • NEBOSH certification is desirable. 
  • In-depth knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels. 
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. 
  • High level of responsibility, strong work ethic, and adaptability. 
  • Team-oriented, cooperative, and able to work under pressure. 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills. 
  • Results-driven, energetic, and open-minded..
