Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming, control systems, instrumentation, and automated process development. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable and high-performance automation systems in marine and industrial environments.
This is a critical role focused on improving operational efficiency, system integration, and overall process reliability in both existing and new automation setups.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and commission new automation systems and control logic (preferable Rockwell Automation/Schneider Electric/Siemens PLC).
- Conduct thorough testing, simulation, and debugging of automation hardware and software.
- Integrate automation systems with sensors, actuators, HMIs, SCADA, and existing equipment.
- Write and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, PLC logic descriptions, and SOPs.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems.
- Ensure all systems meet regulatory and safety compliance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process, electrical, and mechanical engineers.
- Develop automation protocols, safety interlocks, and system specifications.
- Train operations and maintenance personnel on control systems and automation interfaces.
- Commissioning and Troubleshooting of equipment with remote support.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider).
- Proficiency in designing and troubleshooting industrial control systems and instrumentation.
- Strong understanding of automation communication protocols (4–20 mA, Modbus RTU/TCP, HART).
- Experience integrating sensors and field devices (e.g., pH, level, pressure, turbidity, DO, MLSS).
- Knowledge of SCADA, HMI development, and data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with Computers and Networks.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with marine-certified instrumentation and hazardous-area-rated devices.
- Hands-on experience with VFD systems and/or wastewater treatment automation.
- Project management or lead automation role on system integration projects.
