Health & Safety Manager (Ref. 5933/HSM/ESS/GR)
Role Overview:
There is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager at a major industrial plant. The primary focus of the role is to promote and oversee all matters related to occupational health and safety at the plant, ensuring full compliance with corporate policies and national legislation, while supporting the organization’s operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment for employees and external partners.
- Develop, implement, and manage robust safety plans and programs, ensuring full compliance with internal policies and national regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess safety performance, enforce compliance with Health & Safety (H&S) standards, and propose targeted improvements.
- Ensure all operations strictly adhere to Greek health and safety legislation, maintaining high standards of legal and regulatory compliance.
- Lead detailed investigations and root cause analyses of near misses and incidents, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities and incidents, delivering insightful reports to senior management to support informed decision-making.
- Design and deliver comprehensive safety training programs to strengthen safety awareness and foster a proactive safety culture among staff and contractors.
- Enforce the consistent application of Occupational Safety Guidelines (OSG), Occupational Safety Analyses (OSA), and company-specific safety policies.
- Oversee and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001), driving operational excellence.
Candidate Profile
- Polytechnic School Graduate in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering and Management
- Minimum 5 years of experience in H&S leadership roles or in production and maintenance within an industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management strategies.
- Proven experience in drafting and enforcing health and safety policies, as well as conducting risk analyses and accident prevention initiatives.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional observational skills to proactively identify hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a strong ability to influence and drive a culture of safety.
- Analytical problem-solving mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
